Trans Senders ABQ, in solidarity with national grassroots organization
Trans Climbers Belong, created this shirt to uplift trans and non-binary climbers. Trans Climbers Belong advocates for policy change to protect trans athletes' participation in sports on a national scale. Proceeds from this shirt will go towards making climbing more accessible for trans and non-binary folks in our community.
The side-blotched lizard (Uta stansburiana) depicted in this design is native to New Mexico. This lizard is special because there are three types of male side-blotched lizards, one of whom appears the same as the female lizards and under the right circumstances can transform into a more apparently male lizard. This lizard is an example of how there are a range of nuances in sex and gender that exist in nature that are often overlooked.
This design was illustrated by local artist Vee Hernandez.
